This is the place to stay in Cassino. We have stayed here before and the quality of the hotel remains high.

We were pleasantly surprised by our hotel room. It was very spacious, spotlessly clean and with a great view of the Abbey. The staff spoke good English, parking was no problem and the information we received prior to leaving home regarding location and information about Cassino was excellent. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone. Milne Alan (New Zeland)

This has the makings of a very good hotel - currently it is being renovated which it obviously needs. That said, the staff were very friendly and helpful, ( the review is only showing two because of the obvious work going on, i.e. you share the lift with workmen, their wheelbarrow, windows et.al). the buffet breakfast is adequate and for 85 Euros a night, fine. Our room which was on the third floor was fine, and had its own balcony which overlooked the road but more importantly looked straight up to Monte Cassino Monastery which was marvellous. Excellent base for visiting Commonwealth Cemetary which is about five minutes from the hotel and the monastery is about fifteen minutes by car. We hired a car at Rome airport and drove down to Cassino in approximately an hour and a half. Roads are good - if only the same could be said for the drivers, especially in Cassino, endless crossroads which you take your life in your hands, crossing. No one gives way and they drive straight at you!!
Local restaurants in Cassino are virtually non-existant, unless you live off a diet of pizza!! Our hotel's restaurant was fine however.

This hotel may look a little shabby on the outside, but don't let this fool you. The rooms are newly renovated and of high class. The relatively large TV had CNN World, which is much appreciated! After a week of trying to understand Italian news you really long for some English... Breakfast was ok. Lots of single-serve plastic packages with different types of bread and pastries, but also "real" bread, yoghurt and müsli. The front desk has a computer with internet connection that can be used free of charge. We recommend this hotel. Brenander Björn (Svezia).
